The Power Plant Operations Manager at Dangote Cement Plc is responsible for assisting the Sectional Head (Operation) & supervising the general shift activities of Power Plant to ensure optimal performance and adherence to safety standard.
Your Job Description
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Manage the general shift activities for Power Plant performance and safety.
Organize and control scheduled testing of the firefighting system and document updating.
Organize in-house training programs for implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Support Operations Section Head to prepare SOPs for critical activities and conduct in-house training to field staff to improve skills.
Ensure housekeeping and control the cleaning activities in the power plant area.
Post power plant production data to SAP accurately without errors.
Ensure healthiness of equipment and update pending job lists for job planning.
Support shift staff in proper handling of emergencies in assigned areas.
Prepare and maintain power plant production reports and records.
Manage housekeeping, general shift operations, safety, and environment-related activities.
Implement in-house training, prepare SOPs, and train field staff for efficient and uninterrupted operation, avoiding stoppage or tripping of equipment.
The Job Requirements
Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or its equivalent in a relevant discipline.
A minimum of fifteen (15) years of plant-relevant work experience in Gas-based power plant operations.
In-depth understanding of power plant systems and interactions among systems.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Good networking and teaming skills.
Good data gathering and analysis skills.
Baseline problem analysis and solving skills.
Creativity and an ability to think out of the box.
Proficiency in the use of office productivity tools.
