The LMV Electrical Technician at Dangote Cement Plc is responsible for ensuring safe operating condition of Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) by conducting routine maintenance and needed repairs.

Your Job Description

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on motor vehicles, generators, trucks, and equipment.
  • Conduct inspections, diagnose faults, and carry out timely repairs to minimize downtime and support uninterrupted operations.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed records, including maintenance schedules, system performance reports, and technical recommendations for improvement.
  • Interpret electrical, air, and hydraulic schematics and perform necessary repairs.
  • Collaborate with mechanical teams to resolve multidisciplinary technical issues and ensure seamless integration of systems.
  • Provide training and technical guidance to operators and technicians on safe electrical practices and equipment handling.
  • Conduct risk assessments, enforce HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) policies, and participate in safety drills and emergency response activities.
  • Support departmental objectives by managing assigned tasks independently and assisting with higher-level responsibilities when needed to maintain smooth workflow.
  • Oversee the reliability of electrical components within the LMV, ensuring issues are promptly resolved to prevent disruptions.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping during and after completion of jobs.
  • Comply with ISO regulations.

The Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • OND in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of three (3) years working experience as an LMV Technician.
  • Trade Test 1 with a minimum of eight (8) years working experience as an LMV Technician.
  • Good understanding and interpretation of electrical, air, and hydraulic schematics and repairs.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Knowledge of repair and maintenance of vehicles.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
