Rigger/Field Engineer at Excelminds Corporate Services
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Installation and Maintenance: Installing and configuring network devices (routers, switches, access points, etc.), conducting site surveys for new deployments, performing fiber splicing and termination, and maintaining existing infrastructure.
Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving network outages, latency issues, and equipment failures, including RF testing and analysis.
Rigging and Safety: Working at heights (sometimes exceeding 100 meters or 328 feet), using harnesses and fall-arrest systems, and adhering to strict health, safety, and environmental procedures.
Technical Support: Collaborating with Network Operations Centers (NOCs) and other teams to resolve complex issues and ensure seamless service delivery.
Documentation: Maintaining records of installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.
Requirements
Skills and Qualifications:
Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of telecommunications technologies (microwave, radio, fiber optics), network devices, and troubleshooting tools.
Rigging Expertise: Ability to safely lift, move, and position heavy equipment, knowledge of rigging techniques, and experience with lifting equipment (slings, shackles, etc.).
Working at Heights: Ability to work safely at significant heights, including using appropriate safety equipment (harnesses, fall-arrest systems).
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve network issues.
Communication: Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and provide clear instructions.
Physical Fitness: Ability to meet basic medical and fitness requirements, as this role often involves physically demanding tasks.
Safety Consciousness: A strong commitment to safety procedures and regulations.
