Your Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare and maintain all gas and diesel generators, air compressors, and boilers, ensuring repairs are carried out without delay when required.
Prepare weekly and monthly energy reports, KPI reports, generator status reports, and any other reports assigned by the Electrical Manager or Site Services Manager.
Carry out routine maintenance on gas and diesel generators regularly with subordinates.
Service all substation tripping units and ensure all tripping relays have DC power supply for proper operation.
Perform preventive maintenance and checklist (PPM) activities on all substation transformers.
Support plant operations.
Troubleshoot and repair plant equipment.
Repair and maintain fire hydrant equipment.
Monitor energy meters in all substations and carry out repair or replacement when necessary.
Ensure all diesel and gas generators are available for operation.
Ensure neat and accurate records are prepared, posted, and submitted at stipulated times.
Prepare all generators for effective operation.
Ensure all substations are safe to work in, and carry out inspection and checking of all relays.
Ensure all transformers are available for power distribution, properly maintained, and safe.
Ensure planned maintenance is carried out for all breakers.
Inspect all generators before operation.
Ensure availability of spare parts for repairs.
Ensure fire hydrant pumps are available at all times.
Prepare audit checklists and participate fully with each group during audits.

The Job Requirements

Required Qualifications

ND, HND, or BSc in Electrical Engineering or any related Engineering discipline.
Minimum of 2 years’ work experience in a related field.

Required Experience

Very good computer skills, especially in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access packages.
