Job Description

The Production Manager is tasked with executing the approved plan to meet the production volume, quality, and safety standards for the hazardous plant. Coordination with the maintenance department is essential to implement the preventive maintenance plan and minimize process breakdowns. Collaboration with the Safety Manager is required for all safety-related production and maintenance issues. Alignment with the Technical team and Plant Manager is necessary for following up on improvements and modifications, as well as sharing process variables, issues, and recommendations to ensure safe operations.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Ensure safety within the production department and compliance with safety regulations and norms.
  • Align with the Plant Manager to implement the production plan and actions to meet volume and quality targets for oil and meal.
  • Organize material intake with the shift in charge based on the production plan; monitor the oil storage area for timely oil transfer with confirmed quantity and quality.
  • Prepare and submit daily and monthly reports on production, utility consumption, and maintenance downtime to the Plant Manager.
  • Coordinate with the Maintenance Manager on executing preventive maintenance plans and procuring spare parts.
  • Monitor daily maintenance reports and collaborate with the maintenance team to reduce plant downtime.
  • Facilitate team development through training, coaching, and compliance with HSE and GMP standards, while maintaining internal process control and environmental management.
  • Investigate operational problems, analyze proposals from shift supervisors, and assist in implementing modifications.
  • Develop and review plant SOPs to ensure healthy operations and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate with logistics and engineering departments to maintain minimum stock levels of plant consumables.

Requirements

  • Engineering Degree, preferably in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Production/Process Manager in large Solvent Extraction Plants (1000+ tons/day).
  • Experience with modern solvent extraction technology is an added advantage.
