The Business Development Advisor (BDA) supports the Business Development Manager in driving Plan International Nigeria’s resource mobilisation efforts. The role is to support the proposal development process for Plan International Nigeria’s country programme objectives. The role will involve providing supporting to development of grant bid materials (proposals – narrative and budget, presentations and concept notes), project design, support proposal development workshops, design and validate consortia/bid team inputs, provide high quality proposal designs and review, and support the capacity building and training of programme teams and local partners on proposal development.
We are looking for applicant with degree in Development Studies, Medicine, Project Management, Business Studies, Public Health or Social Science (Master’s degree or equivalent in international affairs, development or PMP, PMD certifications and related subjects will be an added advantage). S/he should have 3–5 years’ experience working in a similar role within an INGO and the development and humanitarian sector. S/he should demonstrate strong knowledge of donor-funded development and humanitarian programme design, including the ability to design and interpret project log frames. Strong problem-solving, strategic planning, coordination, and project management skills are required, along with the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders across public and NGO sectors. The role requires excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, including facilitation and technical writing, as well as a solid understanding of Humanitarian Principles and core standards such as CPIE Minimum Standards, Core Humanitarian Standards, SPHERE, and other relevant international standards. Ability to work with diverse international teams, manage multiple tasks under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications are essential.
