We are seeking a full-time Assistant Manager Media Buying with at least 4 years of post-NYSC experience in Media Buying, specifically within an agency environment.
Job Purpose/Objective
The ideal candidate will support the Head, Buying, Control & Content Commercialization unit to deliver best value performance (rates, discounts, payment terms, value add and other favorable commercial terms) for our clients. The candidate will also have primary responsibility for major negotiations, bulk deals, and building strong relationships with media houses, media partners & content providers across all channels. Managing subordinates and resources within and outside the buying function to ensure performance, optimization, team cohesion, and profitability is key. Knowledge of OOH vendors, processes, and PAN Nigeria sites is necessary.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure full implementation and usage of media OPTIMAX tools related to planning, buying, and liaising with finance on payables and profitability.
Develop contract templates for TV, Radio, Press, Outdoor orders, including legal terms verified by company lawyers.
Ensure contracts include terms such as rates, discounts, commissions, VAT, WHT, currency of payment, value adds, and performance conditions.
Work with Media Planners to align monitoring report highlights and missed spots with client expectations.
Generate monthly buying report templates and submit to Director/Unit Lead by the 4th of every new month.
Maintain the annual negotiated media discounts table and rate cards for the account service team.
Ensure compliance report deadlines are met and submitted with necessary campaign execution evidence.
Coordinate with Finance to ensure accurate and prompt client payments and account updates.
Push for timely supplier payments based on contract agreements.
Develop and manage content & commercialization agenda for business profitability.
Negotiate favorable payment terms with media partners and ensure formal documentation with Finance.
Evaluate and recommend content/sites with strong ROI for agency investment.
Ensure effective account management and client satisfaction through regular reports and meetings.
