Your Job Description

Key Accountabilities

  1. Inventory Planning & Control

    • Maintain item master data (classification, lead time, minimum/maximum, safety stock, reorder point) and ensure governance of material codes and cataloguing.
    • Run MRP cycles (in SAP Enterprise Resource Planning, as applicable) and generate requisition proposals aligned to demand, lead time, and service level targets.
    • Perform cycle counts and support annual or biannual stock takes; reconcile variances and drive corrective actions.
    • Monitor inventory health including stock-outs, slow or non-moving items, excess, obsolete, and aging inventory, and propose disposition or re-planning actions.
  2. Demand, Usage & Forecasting

    • Analyze consumption trends for production materials and spare parts (by line or equipment) to refine forecast accuracy and safety stock levels.
    • Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, and Projects to align material plans with preventive maintenance schedules, shutdowns, turnarounds, and capital projects.
    • Track bill of materials (BOM) accuracy and recommend updates to reflect actual usage and engineering changes.
  3. Data Integrity & Systems

    • Ensure clean master data and transaction discipline across GRN, put-away, binning, issue, transfer, return, and reservation processes within CMMS and ERP systems.
    • Build and maintain dashboards and reports covering inventory value, turns, service levels, stock-out events, dead stock, and supplier performance.
    • Partner with IT and Systems teams to enhance barcode or RFID usage, bin-location management, and scanning discipline on the shop floor.
  4. Financial & Compliance Controls

    • Support inventory valuation using moving average or standard cost methods, provisions for slow or obsolete stock, and audit readiness.
    • Enforce standard operating procedures, delegation of authority, three-way matching (PO–GRN–Invoice), segregation of duties, and PTW/LOTO discipline for maintenance materials.
    • Work with Finance to reconcile GR/IR, manage price variances, and ensure accuracy during month-end close.
  5. Vendor & Lead-Time Performance

    • Track supplier OTIF (On-Time In-Full), lead times, and quality issues, and provide insights to Procurement for expediting and vendor improvement.
    • Recommend VMI or consignment arrangements, localization for critical spares and consumables, and MOQ optimization to balance cost and availability.
  6. Process Improvement & Projects

    • Drive Lean and Kaizen initiatives in store layout, binning, kitting, line-side staging, and transactional speed and accuracy.
    • Support shutdown and turnaround material kitting, pre-allocation, and rapid issue and return processes.
    • Lead root cause analysis for stock-out and variance incidents and implement systemic fixes across data, process, and training.
