Core/Technical
Installs pipes and fixtures, such as sinks and toilets.
Installs supports for pipes, equipment, and fixtures prior to installation.
Collaborates with contractors, construction workers, and electricians in installing and repairing plumbing.
Perform scheduled inspection on plumbing systems and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on plumbing systems, ensuring all systems are in good working condition.
Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and all utility shut-offs for buildings.
Inspect structures to assess material and equipment needs for specified plumbing activities and make appropriate requisitions to the Building Service Manager.
Ensure all water systems and pipes in the facility are in good working condition; monitor and check water flow and temperatures.
Ensure water treatment plant (filters, aeration tank, dosing pumps, transfer pump, and other ancillary water systems) is functional; report any breakdown to the Camp Boss.
Repair defective plumbing by locating the cause of the defect and correcting or replacing defective parts, pipes, or clearing clogged drains.
Inspect all water treatment, storage, and structures for infestation of pests, rodents, and bugs; report all signs of infestation to the Camp Boss for immediate treatment.
Ensure all chemical treatment equipment is fully operational.
Ensure sewage systems, lift stations, blowers, and chemical dosing pumps are functional at all times.
Prepare requisition list for materials required to execute planned maintenance tasks.
Undertake duties as assigned or emergency tasks as directed by the Camp Boss or his representative.
The Job Requirements
Requirements
Hold at least an OND/HND qualification or equivalent Trade Test III certification in Plumbing and Pipe Fitting, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Trade Test I, II, and III in plumbing and pipe fitting is preferred.
A minimum of 5 years working experience.
