Your Job Description
Key Functional / Technical Responsibilities
Provide structural stability and integrity calculations for subsea structures.
Design to resist forces for in-service, installation, and transportation load conditions, including determination of size, shape, strength, and type of structural members.
Produce and check design documentation including feasibility reports, detailed design reports, and equipment specifications.
Produce specifications, data sheets, and Material Take-Offs (MTOs).
Coordinate structural engineering support to the execution of multi-discipline projects in line with defined budget and schedule.
Provide specialist structural engineering assistance during occasional periods of offshore or site work.
Contribute as required to events such as Bid Clarifications, Kickoff meetings, and Design Reviews.
Perform concept and detail design of offshore fit-for-purpose lifting arrangements and steel structures, such as lifting appliances, lift points, lift arrangements, grillage, and sea fastening.
Perform structural strength verification analyses, including advanced non-linear Finite Element Analysis using software packages such as SACS.
Review structural deliverables, including construction reports and drawings.
Perform quality control on deliverables prepared by colleagues.
Complete all assigned engineering deliverables in a timely manner within the Project.
Provide engineering support during the execution phase of the project (fabrication, offshore).
Adhere to Company Management System (CMS) as applicable.
Make calculations about pressures, loads, and stresses.
Consider the strength of construction materials and select appropriately.
Ensure that contractual specifications, codes, and standards are followed in project execution according to contractual, legislative, regulatory, company, and commercial requirements.
Provide input into methods for fabrication, transportation, construction, and installation.
HSSE Responsibilities
Ensure visible commitment to HSE and stimulate a high level of HSE awareness on the Project.
Ensure the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental management are implemented and maintained.
QA/QC Responsibilities
Review all calculations and analyses performed by Structural Engineers.
Review all applicable engineering deliverables.
The Job Requirements
Job Requirement
Bachelor Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or relevant engineering discipline.
Relevant software and offshore training.
Strong engineering design experience.
Professionally registered with the Institute of Structural Engineers.
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in offshore engineering, of which at least 7 years
are in engineering design.
