Where You Fit In

You will provide discipline-specific expertise and skills required for world-class delivery of Asset Engineering, Brownfield/Flagship Projects in Nigeria, spanning the complete E&P lifecycle: concept selection, define/FEED, project execution, commissioning/start-up, and support to operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring system integrity and functionality from a Process and Flow Assurance engineering standpoint.
  • Managing FPSOs, wells, risers, flow line & pipeline systems from reservoir to market.
  • Providing fit-for-purpose process design solutions and optimizing changes in existing process facilities.
  • Interfacing with production operations, project teams, petroleum engineering, and other disciplines.
  • Providing commissioning/start-up support and technical authority assistance.
  • Optimizing overall system availability while managing plugging risks.
  • Supervising and coaching young Process and Flow Assurance engineers, trainees, and interns.

What Is the Role?

As a Principal Process and Flow Assurance Engineer, you will report to the Head, Process and Flow Assurance Engineering Deepwater Nigeria. You will provide expertise and assurance support with Technical Authority level accountabilities.

This role demands individuals who are results-driven, enthusiastic, energetic, dedicated, and flexible. The performance of floating and subsea systems is critical to overall asset availability, and success relies on robust engineering support.

Accountabilities

  • Working in a matrix organization across diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Providing technical expertise in steady-state and transient/dynamic simulation studies.
  • Supporting offshore assets and projects in process and flow assurance modeling.
  • Leading process engineering studies, feasibility studies, and design evaluations.
  • Ensuring technical integrity and reliability of offshore facilities.
  • Championing Shell’s global work processes, including HSE and MOC processes.

What We Need from You

To be eligible for this role, you must:

  • Be COREN registered or registrable as an engineer in Nigeria.
  • Have strong interpersonal skills, leadership, and coaching abilities.
  • Work in line with company guidelines on HSSE and Ethics & Compliance.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Legal authorization to work full-time.
  • Minimum MSc. in any engineering discipline (PhD is an advantage).
  • At least 15 years post-graduation experience in upstream E&P, with 10+ years in Process and Flow Assurance Engineering.
  • Expertise in process simulation tools such as PVTsim, Hysys, Unisim, OLGA, Pipesim.
  • Strong understanding of Process Safety, risk assessment, and industry standards.
  • Experience in leading cross-disciplinary engineering teams.
  • Proven contribution to global communities of practice and technical publications.

High personal energy level and a proven track record of delivering business value are essential.
