About the Job

The Integrated Solutions Principal Project Manager is responsible for and leads a well construction/completions and/or solutions project(s) for the Integrated Solutions group. You will be responsible for more than one project either in a supervisory role or in the direct supervision of a project. The Principal Project Manager Is accountable for the project P&L and leads all elements of Baker Hughes products and services, contracted parties as acts as the primary liaison for the client interface of the project.

This position would include oversight of all stages of projects from planning through operational deployment and on through project closing. The project manager will drive “on-time” delivery, consistency, and service delivery excellence, all while maximizing the revenue, minimizing cost, and optimizing the timing of cash collection.

The position reports in a matrix manner to the Integrated Solutions Regional Product Line Director or other designated manager. Additionally, the position will engage significantly with the Integrated Solutions Service delivery organization and individual product lines.

Your Job Description

As a Project Manager – Integrated & Solutions, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading all elements of the project, including Baker Hughes products and services, contracted parties, and client interfaces.
  • Managing on-time delivery, performance improvement, and incremental revenue through upsell strategies and additional pull-through of products or services.
  • Owning overall customer deliverables, including Integrated Solutions compliance, financial KPIs, service delivery, and HSE performance.
  • Being responsible for all aspects of the project’s financial performance.
  • Leading support for the sales team in developing future opportunity pipelines.
  • Aligning cross–product line strategies with Integrated Solutions project deliverables.
  • Promoting and driving implementation of Remote Operations within projects, as applicable.
  • Managing the core Project Management Team and indirectly all other assigned project personnel.
  • Managing multiple products and services across multiple wellsites and rigs, often within complex contractual arrangements.
  • Developing and managing the top-level project schedule and applying solutions to leading, lagging, unforeseen, and predicted events.
  • Applying Baker Hughes Integrated Solutions Management System processes and procedures, as well as mandated software solutions, to the project.
  • Utilizing project management methodologies in daily practice and encouraging team members by example.
  • Acting as the Single Point of Contact (SPC) with the client, nurturing the relationship and serving as the primary contract manager.
  • Acting as a strong and committed HSE leader, providing full HSE leadership through implementation of Baker Hughes HSE Management System and applicable customer HSE requirements, and promoting Stop Work Authority and a speak-up culture.
  • Monitoring project HSE performance and leading regular reviews with involved parties.
  • Participating in internal and external HSE and Quality audits and ensuring identified gaps and improvement opportunities are addressed.
  • Ensuring the Project Communication Plan is established and functional across all project levels and areas.
  • Creating, modifying, and improving the Project Execution Plan and its components, including Risk Management, Communications, Sourcing, Vendor Management, Scheduling, Quality, Stakeholder Management, Data Management, Readiness, Performance Improvement, HSE plans, and HSE Bridging documentation.
  • Leading continual project reviews with clients, company leadership, internal teams, contractors, and relevant industry or official bodies, including participation in peer reviews and after-action reviews.
  • Guiding effective networking within a matrix organization to ensure optimal use of supporting resources from the wider organization.
  • Working closely with Integrated Solutions Centers of Excellence (CoE) to ensure effective project service delivery, KPI reporting, and quality checks of daily operational and financial reporting.
  • Directing contingency planning under the Emergency Response Plan (ERP), including deployment, testing, drills, and risk mitigation, particularly related to well control and well management, while promoting the Management of Change (MOC) process and leading the Emergency Response Team (ERT).
  • Displaying and encouraging company ethics and initiatives across both the assigned project and the wider organization.
  • Planning for contingency operations and ensuring organizational readiness to enact contingencies.

The Job Requirements

To Be Successful in This Role, You Will:

  • Have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or scientific discipline from an accredited university or relevant industry experience
  • Have a minimum of 10+ years of experience in relevant industry (wellbore construction, completions, wellbore intervention, P&A, etc.), with at least 5 years as a project manager. Well Control awareness is required; Well Control Certification is an advantage
  • Experience managing drilling and completions operations with strong operational and technical capabilities
  • Experienced in managing change and assessing risk and financial implications, including management of variation requests
  • Strong leadership with excellent interpersonal, influencing, and planning skills
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills, including the ability to organize meetings and distribute accurate and concise minutes
  • Experience managing multiple product line P&L and multiple simultaneous rig or site operations
  • Skilled in the functional use of Microsoft Office Suite; MS Project familiarity is required
  • Ability to manage, develop, coach, and mentor high-level teams across organizational boundaries
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is an advantage
  • Proven personnel development skills are required for this role
