About the Job

The Team Lead, Pressure Part is responsible for overseeing the inspection, maintenance, and repair of boiler pressure parts and associated systems to ensure optimal plant performance, reliability, and safety.

Your Job Description

  • Coordinate all maintenance activities related to boiler pressure parts (e.g., boiler tubes, headers, heat exchangers, drums, and water walls).
  • Plan, schedule, and execute hydrostatic test, leak test, and NDT on the boiler pressure system.
  • Plan, schedule, and execute preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance to minimise downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of pressure part failures and implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Monitor the condition of boiler components and recommend timely replacement or repair based on inspections and diagnostics.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and HSE teams to ensure safe and efficient maintenance practices.
  • Prepare and manage maintenance work orders, reports, technical documentation, and spare parts inventory.
  • Ensure adherence to OEM standards, regulatory guidelines, and Egbin’s operational procedures.
  • Participate in major outage planning, execution, and post-outage reviews for continuous improvement.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop junior engineers and technicians within the team.
  • Drive a culture of safety and operational excellence in all maintenance activities.
  • Perform a covering role in the absence of the Unit Head, Boiler.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by other Unit Heads/Head of Section/Head of Department.

The Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Seven (7) years of work experience with at least 3 years at a supervisory level and direct exposure to Mechanical and power plant maintenance processes.
  • Proven expertise in pressure part systems within large-scale steam power generation facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of power plant safety procedures, maintenance best practices, and regulatory standards (e.g., ASME, OSHA).
  • Experience with CMMS tools for maintenance planning and reporting (e.g., SAP, Maximo).
  • OEM training/certification on boiler systems (an added advantage).
  • A postgraduate/relevant professional qualification is an added advantage.
