Position Summary

We are offering you the opportunity to join us in a technical support contract. The position is based in Port-Harcourt in Nigeria.

As the appointed representative of the Ponticelli Frères Group Management on a dedicated subsea project, the Subsea Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of execution, ensuring the successful delivery of projects focused on subsea mudmats and structural components.

He/she guarantees:

  • Full compliance with Quality, Safety, Health, and Environmental (QSSE) policies throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Fulfillment of all contractual obligations towards clients, service providers, and subcontractors.
  • Achievement of the financial and performance goals set by the Ponticelli Group.
  • Effective communication and coordination with external stakeholders.

The Subsea Project Manager is fully dedicated to a single project and plays a key role in both strategic oversight and day-to-day management.

The position we are offering involves the following main tasks:

  • Ensure compliance with the Group’s Quality, Safety, Health, and Environment (QSSE) policies throughout the project.
  • Prepare, review, and validate project offers and contracts with management.
  • Monitor project budgets and control expenses to ensure profitability.
  • Analyze project progress and profitability; implement corrective actions if needed.
  • Communicate technical and schedule deviations to the client proactively.
  • Manage invoicing, variations, and additional work submissions with clients.
  • Organize and lead project kickoff and regular progress meetings (internal and with client).
  • Supervise project execution, ensuring alignment with safety, quality, cost, and schedule targets.
  • Coordinate resource allocation including personnel, equipment, subcontractors, and purchases.
  • Manage subcontractor selection, work oversight, and performance evaluation.
  • Ensure all technical and administrative documentation is accurate and compliant.
  • Handle project closure activities including punch list resolution and final acceptance.
  • Conduct project debriefs and report feedback to management.
  • Manage and support the project team, including performance reviews and training needs.
  • Participate in recruitment, team management, and company representation with third parties.

Profile Wanted

You have an engineering degree (general or specialized in subsea, structural, or mechanical disciplines) or equivalent field/project experience in offshore/subsea construction and structures. Also, you have at least 8 years of experience on subsea projects.

  • You have a deep understanding of subsea engineering, particularly related to mudmats and subsea metallic structures.
  • You have proven expertise in project and business management with the ability to implement and enforce QSSE policy.
  • You are recognised for your strong delegation and supervision capabilities.
  • You have experience in managing complex subsea projects from tender to completion and are capable of leading multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • You have developed skills in stakeholder management and client communication.
  • You are autonomous, proactive, reliable, and rigorous, with strong organizational and detail-orientation skills.
  • You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • You are available and willing to travel or work offshore if required.
  • You are proficient in using IT tools for project tracking and reporting.
  • You have the ability to define and use project performance indicators (KPIs).
  • You are fluent in English.
