We are seeking a dedicated and experienced State Support Officer to join our team. The State Support Officer will be responsible for the coordination and implementation of the Nigeria Economic Empowerment & Menstrual Health Pilot (MH-NoW+) in Plateau State. This role will involve working closely with women’s collectives, local NGOs, government agencies, and commercial partners to ensure the successful execution of project activities. The officer will provide technical support, oversee capacity-building initiatives, facilitate linkages to supply chains, and monitor the progress of the project.
Your Contribution
You will be responsible for the following:
Project Implementation & Coordination
- Lead the implementation of project activities across selected LGAs in Plateau State.
- Facilitate the identification and engagement of eligible women’s collectives and commercial partners.
- Work with local NGOs, women’s collectives, and commercial partners to roll out business models for menstrual health (MH) product sales.
- Support training sessions for women’s collectives on MH education, business management, and sales strategies.
- Oversee the distribution of startup kits and facilitate linkages to the MH product supply chain.
Stakeholder Engagement & Advocacy
- Serve as the primary liaison between the project and state-level government ministries, departments, and agencies.
- Advocate for the integration of menstrual health into state policies and programs.
- Build partnerships with local NGOs, businesses, and other stakeholders to ensure sustainability.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting
- Work with the M&E Manager to conduct landscape assessments and analysis of market trends, consumer insights, and existing MH initiatives.
- Collect data on project progress, including sales performance, impact on beneficiaries, and challenges faced.
- Prepare periodic reports, case studies, and success stories for documentation and learning.
- Ensure proper documentation of activities and financial accountability at the state level.
Qualifications & Experience
What are we looking for? We are looking for someone with:
- A degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Business Administration, Development Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management, community engagement, or women’s economic empowerment programs.
- Experience working with women’s collectives, small business initiatives, or menstrual health/WASH projects is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of the local context in Plateau State, particularly in the targeted LGAs.
- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement, advocacy, and capacity-building activities.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and report-writing skills.
- Fluency in English and Hausa is required.
