Security Officer at Nestle Nigeria

Nestlé Nigeria is hereby requesting for applications from qualified candidates to fill the position of Security Officer, whose responsibility is to drive and implement Security Best Practices as defined within the Nestle Group Security and Corporate policies in protecting Nestlé’s staff, clients, reputation, brands and products, property and assets to prevent loss and ensure secured operational environment for Company’s business objectives in the assigned location – Head Office.

A Day in the Life of the Security Officer

  • Effective security & safety system available on site for:
    • Permanent & Contract Employees
    • Visitors including projects, truck drivers, waste buyers and evacuators
  • Ensure the Security of Nestle Assets on site including raw materials, finished products, structures and consumables (approx. NGN 16.2 billion in value).
  • Conduct Security Risk Assessment for the Head Office.
  • Develop and implement SOPs, Specific Beat Instructions, Security methods and protocols aligned with Group Security guidelines.
  • Conduct journey risk assessments for high-risk visitors and expatriates.
  • Lead or participate in Crises Management teams as appropriate.
  • Manage Business Continuity Process for Security unit at Head Office.
  • Conduct Security awareness training for staff, contractors, and visitors.
  • Evaluate and monitor Security Infrastructure (Access Control, CCTV, Radios).
  • Send out periodic Security advisories.
  • Investigate and report Security incidents on Nestle Global Security Database.
  • Manage and evaluate third-party Security Operatives (approx. 61 personnel).
  • Primary liaison with government law enforcement and emergency agencies.
  • Ensure Food Safety Management at waste disposal points.
  • Operate mechanized Security systems (Motorized gates, electronic access, CCTV).
  • Fire Safety Management:
    • Lead fire prevention/fighting team.
    • Act as Head Office Fire Commandant.
    • Train fire marshals and liaise with sister companies.
    • Conduct quarterly fire drills and equipment readiness tests.
  • Ensure contractual compliance and payment of Security service providers.
  • Oversee journey management and event Security planning.
  • Relieve Security staff during their leave or training as needed.
  • Assist with compliance in Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality rules.
  • Proactively manage workplace Security threats through intelligence gathering.

What Will Make You Successful?

  • B.Sc./HND in relevant courses. CPP, CSMP certifications are an advantage.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Security Operations & Management.
  • Confident, courageous, firm but polite, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in Risk/Crime Detection, Mitigation, Investigation & Reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and spoken).
  • Knowledge of physical Security and Safety/Environment rules enforcement.
  • Passion for excellence and embodiment of Nestlé values: Trust, Respect, Action, Clarity.
  • Valid driver’s license.
