Job Description

The Production Manager is responsible for the effective management and running of overall operations of production, with a focus on quality control, ordering/delivery systems and logistics, manpower planning, equipment maintenance, and inventory management.

Production Planning & Warehousing:

  • Managing overall operations to ensure timely accomplishment of production targets within time and cost parameters.
  • Overseeing procurement activities, implementing effective techniques to bring efficiency in operations, improve quality standards, and achieve maximum cost savings.

Supply Chain Management:

  • Managing the supply chain for items, ensuring timely distribution of goods to the stores.
  • Monitoring stock availability and making appropriate arrangements to ensure on-time deliveries.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensuring adherence to quality systems and compliance with Brand Standards, Governmental Controls, and ISO quality standards.
  • Implementing quality systems/procedures like Six Sigma and Lean Sigma to reduce rejections and ensure zero defect products.

Operations & Management:

  • Researching and developing new food products, food costing, and menu reengineering.
  • Managing preventive and predictive maintenance schedules of equipment to minimize stoppages in critical production areas.

Staff Training and Team Development:

  • Providing direction to production staff to ensure efficient event setups, requisitioning during events, post-event breakdown, warehouse returns, equipment storage, sanitation, and maintenance.

Qualifications

Candidate must possess at least one of the following degrees:

  • Vocational Bachelor's College Degree
  • Post Graduate Diploma / Master’s Degree
  • Food & Beverage Services Management
  • Food Technology / Nutrition & Dietetics
  • Hotel Management
  • Culinary Arts or Food Nutrition
  • Engineering (Chemical, Industrial, or related fields)

Additional Requirements:

  • At least 8 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in commissaries, central kitchens, or production units.
  • Strong background in GMP/HACCP principles.
  • Knowledge of inventory planning and control, including effective stock forecasting.
  • Exposure to ice cream or cake manufacturing is an advantage.
