What Role You Will Play in Our Team

The Marine Technician supports operations, maintenance, and logistics activities associated with maintaining the safe and efficient operations of marine assets. They leverage their knowledge and experience to provide hands-on support and technical expertise.

What You Will Do

  • Utilize knowledge and experience to support safe and efficient operations and maintenance of marine assets used in the corporation’s business, including F(P)SO’s, tank vessels, offshore support vessels, offshore platforms, and marine terminals.
  • Help ensure marine operations are conducted safely, reliably, and in compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Help ensure SSHE policy and programs protect people, the environment, assets, and reputation.
  • Help ensure compliance with policies, procedures, applicable laws, regulations, industry standards, operating guidelines, and best practices.
  • May serve as a designated watchstander for marine assets, including but not limited to F(P)SO’s, terminals, and platforms.
  • Assist with onboard drills, training, and emergency response requirements.
  • Support, monitor, and help troubleshoot marine asset operating systems.
  • Support resolution of marine issues relating to terminal interfaces.

About You

Skills and Qualifications

  • OOW (Officer of the Watch) certificate; minimum 3 years of experience.

  • Good understanding and identification of workplace hazards.
  • Strong analytical skills and courage of conviction.
  • Ability to influence without authority and interact effectively with operation and maintenance organizations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse groups; able to network effectively within organizations.
  • Technical Knowledge & Equipment Operation: Previous FSO or FPSO experience preferred; tanker or LNG experience.
  • Managing Marine Systems (Operation and Troubleshooting).
  • Floating Structure Operations.
  • Managing Liquids Transfer Operations (Cargo, Ballast, and Fueling).
  • Offshore Support Vessels.
  • SSHE Management and Emergency Response.
  • Terminal Operations.
  • Vessel Administration (Regulatory Compliance, Policies, Procedures).
  • Vessel Machinery and Equipment (Operation and Troubleshooting).
  • Marine Logistics.
  • Marine Navigation, Ship Handling, and Seamanship.
  • Marine Quality Assurance and Control.
