Job Description

Financial Reporting and Compliance

  • Oversee the preparation and timely delivery of accurate and comprehensive financial statements (monthly, quarterly, and annual) in accordance with IFRS, GAAP, or other standards.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements, tax regulations, and industry-specific regulatory bodies.
  • Manage consolidation of financial data from multiple subsidiaries and entities.
  • Liaise with external auditors to facilitate annual audits.
  • Lead preparation and filing of regulatory reports including tax returns and financial disclosures.

Financial Analysis and Insights

  • Analyze financial results and provide insights and variance analysis to senior management.
  • Assist CFO and leadership with forecasts, budgets, and strategic financial planning.
  • Recommend financial performance improvements and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure clear interpretation and presentation of financial data to stakeholders.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead and mentor a financial reporting team with a focus on excellence and development.
  • Set goals and KPIs aligned with department and business objectives.
  • Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities.
  • Conduct performance reviews and support team growth.

Process Improvement and Systems Optimization

  • Continuously improve reporting processes and systems for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with IT and Finance teams to implement automation tools.
  • Ensure processes are scalable and compliant with standards and regulations.
  • Identify and implement best practices in reporting.

Strategic Financial Planning and Advisory

  • Support business initiatives with financial insights, including M&A and investments.
  • Advise on financial implications of strategic decisions.
  • Assist CFO in risk management and financial planning.

Risk Management and Internal Controls

  • Ensure robust internal controls for financial compliance and integrity.
  • Monitor and apply changes in accounting standards and tax laws.
  • Support the finance team in applying financial policies and procedures.

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the point of contact for financial reporting with stakeholders including auditors and regulators.
  • Present financial performance to executive leadership and board.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships for alignment on financial issues.

Expected Competencies

Experience and Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, ACCA, or equivalent required.
  • 10–12 years experience in financial reporting, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Expertise in IFRS/GAAP, statutory reporting, and financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Team management experience in multi-entity organizations.
  • Strong analytical skills and accuracy in financial data interpretation.
  • Leadership experience and communication skills for non-financial audiences.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Project management skills and process improvement leadership.
