Job Summary

Lead and manage the Project Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Department. Be responsible for the development, management, implementation, operation, monitoring and review of the project HSE management system, with the goal of achieving work activities without incident, harm to personnel or damage to property or the environment. Provide functional Project HSE Leadership to all project management, supervision and work personnel.

Job Details

Leadership

  • Provide positive and professional leadership to all direct reports and personnel at the project.
  • Coach and mentor HSE personnel and other direct reports to ensure professionalism and adherence to company core values.
  • Provide advice and support to the project team on issues relating to occupational health and safety.
  • Support implementation of HSE policies, procedures, and standards at the project site.
  • Delegate appropriate responsibility as required while retaining overall accountability.

Core/Technical

  • Ensure all project HSE deliverables (HSE plan, JHA, Budget, and Procedures) are developed and approved by the client.
  • Liaise with the Project Manager and Client on all project HSE matters.
  • Ensure staff and subcontractors are medically fit before commencing work.
  • Implement company Health, Safety, Environmental, and Waste Management policies and plans.
  • Develop and implement the Project HSE training plan to ensure competencies.
  • Ensure incidents are reported to the Client, investigated, closed out with improvements, and lessons shared.
  • Initiate and participate in project risk assessments and HSE workshops; maintain and act on resulting registers.
  • Develop project emergency response procedures and implement improvement measures.
  • Attend Client and Oilserv meetings as required.
  • Lead HSE assessment team for Sub-contractor selection.
  • Ensure project HSE audits are conducted per the audit plan and corrective actions are implemented.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • NEBOSH IGC certification.
  • ISO certifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • 10+ years of oil and gas HSE experience, with at least 6 years in major project HSE management.
