eHealth Africa is a non-profit focused on improving health systems in Africa. Established in 2009, eHA works with governmental and non-governmental partners across Africa to build stronger health systems through the design and implementation of data-driven solutions that respond to local needs and provide underserved communities with tools to lead healthier lives.

About the Role
The Community Engagement Assistant will play a vital role in bridging the gap between the organization and the community by facilitating communication, supporting project implementation, managing administrative tasks, and fostering collaborative relationships.
What You’ll Do
- Design and implement community-based activities that encourage engagement and awareness.
- Serve as the main point of contact for communication with local authorities and community members.
- Organize and facilitate community meetings, workshops, and events.
- Assist in planning and monitoring of project activities at the community level.
- Support training sessions for community members and stakeholders.
- Participate in data collection activities.
- Maintain accurate records of community-based activities and provide reports.
- Build and maintain relationships with local leaders and stakeholders.
- Ensure transparency and trust through effective communication with the community.
- Support feedback mechanisms and complaint-handling processes.
Who You Are
Education
Degree in Social Science, Development Studies, International Affairs, or a related field.
Work Experience
- 2 years of relevant professional experience in protection programming.
- Experience working with host communities, IDPs, and returnees.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and data reporting.
- Understanding of protection principles and best practices.
Desired Skills
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Professional ethical standards.
- Ability to handle confidential matters effectively.
- Familiarity with cultural dynamics in Sokoto, Zamfara, and Kano is an advantage.
Language Ability
English is the spoken and written language. Ability to speak Hausa, Kanuri, or other local languages is an asset.
