The Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely recording, reconciliation, and reporting of all financial transactions within the organization. This role plays a critical part in supporting the firm's mission to deliver tailored investment solutions to clients by maintaining precise financial records and ensuring strict compliance with all regulatory and internal standards. Accurately records all financial transactions within the accounting system, including investments, fees, expenses, and cash flows across client portfolios and fund operations.
Ensures proper documentation and classification of transactions, specifically supporting diverse fund structures such as dollar funds, equity funds, money market funds, and segregated portfolios.
Reconciliation & Verification
Performs timely and thorough bank reconciliations, ledger reconciliations, and comprehensive account reviews to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Reconciles fund statements, bank accounts, and client accounts, promptly identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
Prepares precise periodic financial statements, reports, and schedules that adhere to regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Supports audit processes by providing necessary documentation and clear explanations.
Budgeting & Expense Oversight
Assists in the preparation of budgets and forecasts related to investment activities and operational needs.
Monitors expenses, ensures proper approvals, and maintains robust controls to support the firm's financial sustainability.
Financial Analysis & Insights
Contributes to financial analysis to inform management's strategic decision-making.
Provides valuable insights on fund performance, operational costs, and key profitability metrics.
Internal Controls & Process Improvement
Maintains and actively enhances internal control procedures to mitigate errors, prevent fraud, and minimize operational risks.
Identifies and implements process improvements to boost efficiency and accuracy in all financial activities.
The Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
ACCA, ICAN is preferred
At least 5 years of relevant experience, especially in financial services, asset management, or fund administration
Strong knowledge of accounting standards, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance
Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, or ERP systems)
Exceptional attention to detail, strong accuracy, excellent organizational, and time management skills
